Mr. Louis Melton Leggett

November 17, 1934 ~ April 19, 2016

Louis Leggett passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 19th, 2016. He was born in Live Oak, Florida and raised in Bradenton Florida. He served honorably for the US Army and retired from Associated Appraisers Group, Inc. Lou was an active member of Dallas First United Methodist Church in Dallas Georgia. He is survived by his sister Georgann Maxwell of FL, and many loving nieces and nephews; Step-daughters, Margie Threatt & husband Larry, Sarah Smith, Laura Moore & husband Tom, Katina Mussett & husband Jack; daughter-in law Caroline, as well as 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Drew and Estelle Leggett; sisters, Jewell & Gene, and step-son Frank (Buddy) Smith. His memorial service will be held Saturday, April 30th, 2016 @ 11:00am at Dallas First United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve Schofield will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the general budget or the outreach programs at Dallas First United Methodist Church; 141 E Memorial Drive, Dallas, GA 30132.

  6. ‘I was saddened when I heard that Lou had passed away. Such a gentle sweet man. I can remember the very first time I met Lou and it always puts a smile on my face. I was lucky enough to be able to go through Stephen Ministry training together and he was my partner on many occasions. I was so blessed and learned a lot from Lou. You will be greatly missed. What a great comfort it is to know that this is not good bye that we will see him again, as Jesus stands on his promise of eternal life. I know when Lou went to Heaven he was greeted by God who was saying, job well done my good and faithful servant.
