Mr. William M. Thompson, Jr.

Powder Springs, GA; (formerly of Palm Coast, Florida) ------ William M. Thompson, 90, formerly a physicist for Naval Research and NASA, died on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, GA. Mr. Thompson was born in Lynchburg, Virginia. He moved to the Palm Coast, FL area in 1986 from Chesapeake, VA. He was a Naval Air Corp. veteran in World War II. He enjoyed tennis, golf and classical music. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Palm Coast, Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Leigh Robertson Thompson. Survivors include his two daughters, Patricia Ringhofer, Powder Springs, GA and Paula Whitaker, Beaufort, SC; three granddaughters; and, three great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church.
