Mrs. Esther Paula Gore

December 31, 1928 ~ May 27, 2016

Esther Paula Fiedler Gore, 87, died on May 27. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry, and her parents and sister. Esther grew up in the Bronx, at one point or another living in most of NYC. She remembered seeing Jackie Robinson, Frank Sinatra and John Coltrane play live. She worked in the publishing industry until she turned 30, got married and helped Henry run his conglomerate, Bag-A-Thon Packaging Corporation. She begat David (Jacqueline) who begated Megan, Kara, Luc and Addison. She loved her nieces, nephews and their children. She loved her cousins and her whole family, and, at one time organized a "Fiedler Family Circle" and single-handedly kept that going for many years. If you were looking for her you'd find her at a poker table. She lived in NY for 60 years (yet still thinks anybody who votes for Trump is an Angry Not Smart Person) then Vegas for 20 years ("I don't gamble, I play poker"). She moved to Roswell, Georgia in 2008 to be closer to her grandchildren and to nag her son more effectively. The last 15 months of her life she lived at AG Rhodes in Marietta. They treated her great. The family will host a memorial service Tuesday Evening at 6:30. All are welcome.. Please write any fun memories you have of her below.   Esther Paula Fiedler Gore Memorial Gathering 6:30 to 8:30pm, drop in anytime 1974 Willeo Creek Pt. Much love from my family and me, Susan, Jim, Kelly, and Karlyn’

  2. ‘I am so sad to hear of my cousin Esther’s passing. She was a treasure and inspiration to me my entire life, and she always accepted and encouraged me to be a better person without judging, even when she didn’t always agree with what I was doing. I am sad that I was not able to see her in person in her last few years, but grateful I was able to speak with her and tell her I loved her shortly before she died.Goodbye dear Esther.’

  8. ‘I have two additions…In Feb 2015 we put her in Rhodes Nursing Home, they put her on hospice, meaning they gave her less than six months to live. She actually outlived her hospice, they closed last month. Second, and this will forever make me smile, my daughter and I were in her room, a couple of hours after she passed. Her Grandma was lying there, and we were crying and talking. Kara, almost 21, already has a few tattoos, which I am not a huge fan of… “Dad,” she asked, “Want to hear a secret?” Yes, of course I do. “Well, for the last year, me and Grandma have been planning to get matching tattoos.” They had the design all planned out, they just ran out of time…. 87 years old, Jewish, and she was about to get tattoo’d. I just hope it wasn’t going to be on her lower back…’

  22. ‘What can I say? My friend for more than 40 years, Esther and I traveled all over queens, Long Island, and Las Vegas for the first 32 years until she moved to Ga. To spend the last of her years close to her son and grandchildren whom she adored. She always wished for me the life she had, she was an amazing woman, never a negative bone in her body, always a positive attitude. She lived the game of poker, and would let me know time and time again that I was too tight of a player to win in Texas Holdem. Her famous words I’m in !! My sincere condolences to Dave and his beautiful children and of course her whole family she will be greatly missed. RIP my friend till we meet again’

  23. ‘I still miss talking to Esther even though it has been a year since she passed. Some of my fondest memories are the two of us vacationing in Las Vegas by ourselves and they were always the best and the highlight of the year. She was a one of a kind lady, and will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, dear friend.’
