Oner Mack Holmes, 83, of Baltimore, MD passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Mr. Holmes was born November 5, 1933 in Manning, SC to Sarah Mack and Nick Johnson. He relocated to Baltimore, MD in 1949 where he met Gloria (Parker) Holmes and they married in 1956. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Mr. Holmes was retired after 32 years of service with the Baltimore Board of Education where he worked as a head custodian and chief engineer. Mr. Holmes will be laid to rest at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, GA on March 18, 2017. Mr. Holmes is pre-deceased by his wife, Gloria Lenore Holmes of Baltimore, MD. He is survived by his daughter Gloria Scott of Villa Rica, GA; son Carroll Holmes and wife, Marilyn of Abington, MD, siblings, Sister Mary Holmes of Baltimore, MD and brother Arthur Holmes of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Kim Scott of Powder Springs, GA; Gwendolyn Bowers of Powder Springs, GA; Talisha Scott of Greensboro, NC, Ivan Holmes of Abingdon, MD, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
