Paula Kaye Thacker

June 8, 1950 ~ October 8, 2020

Paula Kaye Thacker, age 70, passed peacefully on October 8, 2020, in Acworth, Georgia surrounded by her loved ones. It is impossible to capture a person in an obituary, especially the life of a woman who gave every piece of herself to others. Paula Kaye was born on June 8, 1950 in Marietta, Georgia, to parents Milton and Audrey Thacker. She graduated from Wills High School and also obtained her Paralegal Certificate from Kennesaw State University. She was this most loving and loyal mother, grandmother, and friend. Always selfless, a caregiver by nature. Her family was her priority, her support to them was unwavering, her happy place was anywhere her grandchildren were. She loved to go the movies, take trips, have dinner with her best friend(s), and watch the Atlanta Falcons. Her soul was gentle, but her shell was built of steel. She possessed the strength and fight to overcome all odds. Forgiveness, empathy, and acceptance radiated with every smile and gentle touch all the way to her sweet last breath. Paula is survived by her daughters Kimberly Ann Brooks and Kathy Day Boone; son-in-law Christopher James Boone; brother Mark Stephen Thacker and sister-in-law Donna Ledford; Grandsons Austin Kyle Weir, Griffin Aaron Brooks, Colin Everett Weir; Granddaughters Ashley Ann Brooks, Dayla Gwyn Weir, Mia James Boone; niece Eryn Elizabeth Thacker. She is preceded in passing by her father Milton “Shot” Paul Thacker, of Dallas, Georgia; mother Audrey Virginia Thacker, of Marietta, Georgia; brother Milton Wayne Thacker, of Smyrna, Georgia. A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday October 12, 2020 at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park @ the Southern Cremations & Funerals building. 1861 Dallas Hwy SW Marietta, GA 30064 Visitation 1:00-2:00. Memorial from 2:00-3:00 Graveside Service to follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. 1306 Whitlock Ave NW Marietta, GA 30064 All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paula Kaye Thacker’s life. The family would like to thank everyone for all the support that has been shown to our family.
