Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Richard (Rick) Harmon passed away peacefully in the early morning on February 17, 2022. Rick was born May 3rd, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, to Herbert and Mabel Harmon. Rick spent his early years in Toledo, and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, after graduating from DeVilbiss High School. In Atlanta, he worked hard to build his career at Postec (formerly Micros) and continued to work there until retirement.
Rick was patient, smart, kind, selfless, and a loyal father, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a witty personality and was quick to tell a joke to make others smile. History and politics were his passion. Rick Harmon could recite the date of any historical event and special days of those he loved without hesitation. If you were playing Trivia, you fought for him to be on your team. He loved learning and helping others research anything they might need help with. Rick enjoyed spending time with his daughters, nieces, brothers, and other friends and family.
Rick Harmon was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jerry Harmon. He is survived by his brother Jon Harmon, daughters Heather Harmon and Kari Harmon, grandson Jesse Jones, nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be sadly and lovingly missed by all those he left behind.
There will be a remembrance service on February 25th at Southern Cremations and Funerals. The service will be from 3-4pm with visitation starting at 2pm.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Heather, Kari, and family, My sincerest condolences go out to you all. Your Dad was an amazing man and cherished friend.
To Rick’s family, Sending my sincerest condolences at this difficult time. Rick and I met playing scrabble online many years ago and became fast friends. He was a great competitor and we had fun challenging each other and talking politics! Go Trump!! He would regale me with stories of Heather, Kari, and his nieces and nephews. He was so proud of you all and your accomplishments! I am very blessed to have known him and will cherish our friendship for the rest of my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you
One of the best friends I ever had. Drove out to Phoenix together in late 60s. Had quite an adventure. His pink red Ford was our cruising car in HS. Lived a couple blocks away on Maxwell. He was the best. Good times at his Devils lake cabin with Todd and Bob. Wish I had stayed in touch Rick. Love you !
