Richard Evans, age 61, died in his home July 25, 2019. born in Brooklyn, New York on June 21, 1958, Richard is preceded in death by his father Freeman Evans and his mother, Evangeline Cole Evans. He is survived by daughter Alexandra Marie Evans Carlson and his adopted children Jammie Lee Poole Evans, Delphia Denise Poole Evans, and his grand-daughter Levoular Alexandra Evans. Richard is a U.S. Army veteran who served honorably in 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles.” His many awards and decorations include expert marksmanship with the M-16 rifle and hand grenade and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Arrowhead device. Richard was last employment by Hitachi Automotive in Monroe, Georgia as a commercial mechanical engineer. An avid hunter and fisherman, Richard will remain in the loving memory of his girlfriend of four years, Chantanay Wright, his ex-wife Levoular McCray, and countless family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 10, 2019, at the American Legion in Loganville, GA.
