Major Richard Kenneth Wolfe

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Wolfe, who entered eternal rest on July 20, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born in Dover, Ohio on August 8, 1941, to Kenneth Wolfe and Betty Haver. Richard lived a life defined by faith, service, and devotion to his family and country. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 25 years, demonstrating honor, courage, and commitment throughout his military career. He served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. The values he embraced during his service shaped the way he lived every day – with integrity, discipline, and compassion.

Richard was a devoted Christian who faithfully served his church, Powers Ferry Church of Christ for 49 years where he found strength and purpose in his faith. He taught grade school bible class on Sundays. He was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and willingness to lend a helping hand. His life reflected his love for God, his family, his country and his community.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Josephine Wolfe, who passed away in 2018, his father, Kenneth Wolfe and mother, Betty Haver, his brothers, Ronald and David Wolfe.

He is survived by his loving children, Tina (Greg) of Atlanta, Ga., his son Rick Wolfe II of Atlanta, Ga, his brother, Jim (Sheila), his sister-in-law, Shirley (Greg) and their daughters, Crissy and Lauren, along with many relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A committal service with full military honors for Major Richard Wolfe of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) will be held on Friday, October 9th at 11:30 at the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA. He will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife, Josephine Ramona Wolfe, reunited together in eternal peace. Family and friends and all who wish to honor his service are welcome to attend.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10th from 10am -1pm at Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hills at 1861 Dallas Hwy Marietta, Ga 30064. The family invites you to join them to honor and remember his life.

Though Richard has departed this earthly life, his legacy will continue through the values he instilled in those who knew and loved him. Richard will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud Marine, faithful Christian, and trusted friend whose example of service and kindness touched many lives.
