Richard Lawrence Churchill age 76 passed away peacefully at home on May 18th, 2021 under the care of Hospice. Richard was born in Worcester, MA. To Winston Churchill and Mildred Chamberlain. He is survived by his wife of 53 years and their children. Dick married Linda Hays Whitebread of Warwick, PA. in 1967 after attending Boston City Hospital School of Nursing and Worcester Memorial School of Nursing. Daughter Amy Burgess and husband Brian Burgess of Holland, son Adam Churchill (wife) Sarah McHose of Victory ,VT. son Aaron Churchill (wife) Katherine(Kiki) of Coventry, Connecticut, niece Tara Kile, nephew Troy Churchill, four grandsons Pierce, Mchale, Benjamin and Simon , brother Donald Churchill (wife) Janice of Sun City Center, FL., brother William Churchill (wife) Monica of Bolton, FL., a very special cousin Barbara Churchill of Winter Haven, FL. And nieces and nephews. Dick served in the Navy from 1962-1966 then joined the American Legion and VFW. He was a Mason and served as Lodge Master for two terms at his lodge in West Brookfield. Dick graduated from Central New England College and Worcester Polytechnical College. Dick was a active in his community and church. He served on the school committees for West Brookfield Elementary and Quaboag Regional High School. He moved to Peachtree City, GA. With his work at CPC Engineering of Sturbridge, MA. He retired in 2010 after receiving many awards as Director of Environmental Health and Safety with US Filter Surface Preparation Group and US Filter-Wheelabrator. Golf was a passion of his as well as skiing in his younger years. He was a member of Planterra Golf Course in Peachtree City, GA. Watching his grandchildren grow up brought him great joy. He was fortunate to care for Benjamin and Simon until they started school, taking them to all the parks on his golf cart. Dick enjoyed frequent visits to New England to visit family and friends.
In lieu of flowers , donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Sacred Journey Hospice.
