Richard Pruitt

Richard Pruitt was born July 11, 1968, in Indianola, MS to Leon Marshall and the late Artha Mae Pruitt. He grew up in St. Rest and attended Lockard Elementary School and Gentry High School in Indianola. He later attended Finch-Henry Job Corps Center in Batesville, MS. After leaving Job Corps, he moved to Chicago for several years. In 2003, he was reunited with his brother, Leon, and moved with him to Atlanta where he would remain until his transition on May 13, 2026.

He lived a peaceful and quiet life and helped everyone however he could. He had a deep love for wrestling, fishing, football, and family. He was a devoted brother and showed love and kindness to many people. In return, many people loved and cared for him deeply.

Richard leaves to cherish his life, a father, Leon Marshall of Douglasville, GA, a close and caring brother and sister-in-love, Leon & Camisha Pruitt of Fairburn, GA, and other siblings; Tonya Brown, Trenton, NJ, Lueiretta (Michael) Bouie, Copperas Cove, TX, Antonio Jones, Indianola, MS, Christy (Jeremiah) Veal, Douglasville, GA, Larissa (Winfred, Jr) Young, Huntington, MD, Sheterica Elmore, Indianola, MS, Ronald Ivory, Indianola, MS and Brian (Demetria) Wyms, Houston, TX. He also leaves to cherish his extended family-in-love; Willie & Dorothy Fairchild, Tannisa Fairchid, Germissa Danley, Dexter (Valencia) Fairchild, Kenric Fairchild, Renolda (Delmard) Wood, a special niece, Jalisia Pruitt, and a host of other nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held in the chapel of Southern Cremations and Funerals at Holly Hill, 431 SW Broad Street, Fairburn, Georgia 30213, on May 23, 2026, at 2:00pm. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 3:00pm.
