Richard Timothy Tharpe Sr., 52, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Tuesday August 19, 2008. He was preceded in death by his Father: John A. Tharpe Sr and Mother: Hazel Ward Tharpe; Brother: Jack Davis. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his children: Richard Tharpe Jr, Macy Maddox and Tracy Maddox; life long companion: Lisa Parham; Brother: John A Tharpe Jr, Chuck Ward, Jimmy Ward; Sisters: Judith Lane Padgett, Laura Susette Tharpe, Elizabeth Johnson: and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 21, 2008 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Holly Hill Funeral Home, 431 SW Broad Street, Fairburn, GA 30213. Services honoring Mr. Tharpe will be held on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Ricky I miss you more and more with each day that passes. I would just love to hear your voice. Johnny and Laura miss you too! Elizabeth is gone too. She left us on Jan. 4, 2011. My heart aches to see you and talk to you. You are a GREAT Brother. I can remember so many times when you were right there to help me in my times of need. Everybody that didn’t know thought you were Anthony and Dionne’s daddy. You were always there for them too! I love you from the deepest part of my heart and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Yes it’s not going to be long. Our world is in such a mess. I’m glad in a way that you are not having to deal with it. Macy and Tracy each have a child now. Both boys. I don’t talk to them but I see their posts on Facebook. They are all doing well. I have to go now but always remember you are in our hearts and thoughts everyday.
