Robert Macleod Eslinger

Robert Macleod Eslinger (Bob), 84, of Acworth, GA, passed away on November 29, 2019. He was a loving husband, a devoted family man, and a lifelong learner. Bob was born in Baltimore, MD on July 11, 1935. His family relocated to California during his high school years. He graduated from Hemet High School in 1953. California always held a special place in Bob’s heart. On November 17, 1935, Bob married his beloved wife, Dorothy Gertrude Albright who preceded him in death in 2010. They were married for 54 years. Bob worked as a career banker retiring as a Vice President of Operations after 45 years. He loved the outdoors and being in nature, but spending time with his family was his greatest pleasure. Bob is survived by his children, Don and his wife, Gwen; Darryl and his wife, Amy; Darlene and her husband, EG; and Darren and his wife, Maggie; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister, Joyce Scott; his brother, John Eslinger; and other family and friends. He is also preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Matilda Eslinger (nee Macleod) and his brothers, Donald and James. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on December 7, 2019 in the chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL. Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, AL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Children’s Hospital of Birmingham.
