Roberta Laverne Sargent Searle

Roberta Laverne Sargent Searle, age 89, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 28, 2021.  She is survived by her 7 children, Karen Searle, Sandi Searle, Robert Searle, Janice and (Franklin Brooks), Teresa and (Michael Holmes), James and (Cindy) Searle and Mark and (Linda) Searle. She has 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and counting.  Roberta was born on March 9, 1931 in Tucumcari, NM, to parents Minnie Ola McFarlin Sargent and Clarance Edward Sargent. She graduated from West Texas College and was a member of the Zeta sorority.  In 1976, she moved to Atlanta, Ga when her company transferred locations moving out of Miami, Florida. She worked with Heller Financial for over 30 years as an Executive Financial Assistant, which she later retired.  She was very busy in all of her children’s lives. She made time to make three meals a day with two snacks, shop, take the kids to doctors appointments, swimming lessons, sports events, and church events. She once said it was easier to raise seven children in her day than it is to raise two children today. She loved her family and that is one of her most important accomplishments.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Liberty Church in Marietta, Ga on March 9, 2021, Her birthday.
