RONALD LEE WALKER (October 17, 1955 - January 22,2021) Jeremiah 31:13: “The young women will dance for joy, and the men—old and young—will join in the celebration. I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchange their sorrow for rejoicing. A Time to be Born: Mr. Ronald Lee Walker, of College Park, Georgia, was born October 17, 1955 at Fort Benning, Georgia, to the late SFC (Ret) Price Walker, Sr. and Clara Mae Jessie Walker. A Time to Learn: As part of an Army family, Ronald moved frequently as his father’s assignments took them to Panama, South Carolina, and Georgia. In his early teens, the family settled in Columbus, Georgia where he began middle school. Ronald graduated from Columbus High School in 1973. Ronald was a star in track and field earning a full scholarship to Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. While at Xavier, he studied Health and Physical Education. He lacked only one year before completing requirements for a Bachelor Degree. Also, Ronald was a member of the ROTC at Xavier. Ronald accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life. He was baptized on January 5, 1975 at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia where he worshipped with his family for many years. Proverbs 17:22 Laughter is good medicine A Time to Live: Ronald was an upbeat free spirit who loved to chat, laugh and socialize. He had a great love for music and dance. He had a talent for spinning vinyl records as a disc jockey in New Orleans and in Atlanta, where he later moved. He went by the moniker, “Captain Egypt” and gained quite the reputation for his ability to get people out on the dance floor. “Egypt” was the ‘life of the party’ wherever he went. If you ever had the pleasure of his company, it was a good time. He was sure to say something that would have you smiling or laughing. Later in life, he supported himself by detailing cars. Ronald would do such a great job washing and detailing cars, he gained another moniker, “Bling.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” A Time to Rest: Ronald transitioned from this life on Friday, January 22, 2021. He no longer inhabits the earthly body in which he endured so much physical pain and mental distress. He is preceded in death by his parents, older brother Ret. USAF Captain Willie Edward Walker (Zenobia), Hampton, VA., and grandson Aaron Price Jr., Savannah, GA. A Time to Celebrate: He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Leona Clara Walker (New Orleans, LA); Tiffany Fowler (Romondo), Newnan, GA; Tyra Price (Aaron), Jacksonville, Florida; Teaira Pepp, Palmetto, GA; brother, Dr. Price Walker, Jr. (Belita), Columbus, GA; sister, Princeanna Walker, Decatur, GA; Mother of three of his children, Joycelyn Pepp, Palmetto, GA; three grandchildren, Romir, Roslyn, and Ariane; and a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends. A Time to Reflect: It’s not about the quantity...It’s about the quality. Life is full of moments that create long lasting memories. His Journey’s Just Begun By Ellen Brenneman Don’t think of him as gone away his journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much. The Family would like to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
