Susan Catherine (Cathy) Thompson – 1946 – 2018 Beloved Mom, Grandma, and Gigi, Susan Catherine (Cathy) Thompson of Dallas, GA passed away at 8:40 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain Hospice Home. Cathy was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on October 25, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine (Katie) Diedrick. Five siblings also preceded her in death - Freddie Norma, Randy, David, and Linda. On February 24, 1968, she married her husband, Curtis Thompson. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2001. She is survived by one sibling: Michael (Mike) Diedrick; her children: her daughter Candy Lindstrom and Candy’s husband, Chad, her daughter Rebecca (Becky) Key and Becky’s husband, Harry, and her son Gregory (Greg) Thompson and Greg’s wife, Amanda; seven grandchildren – Lauren and Christian (husband), Brandon, Derek, Jeremy, Nathan, Heather, and Fleicity, and three great-grandchildren. Cathy was an avid reader, and she enjoyed playing cards and games. She loved spending time with her family and loved a good joke. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, June 4th at 4:00 pm in the Columbarium Chapel at Southern Cremations and Funerals at Cheatham Hill, Marietta, GA. Family will receive friends to share memories two hours before the memorial service at 2:00 pm until time of services.
