Growing up I spent most weekends at Kristen’s house. Mr. Tyree was like my second dad. He would drive us anywhere we wanted to go, Six Flags, the movies, the mall, and Granny’s house. Some of my most favorite memories were with him and Kristen in his red, camper top truck. Sometimes he would let Kristen and I sit in the back and we would be sliding all around back there, but it was a blast! But most of the time we sat next to her dad, on the wooden bead seat covers, with the radio loud, listening to country music, and singing. I remember us singing The River by Garth Brooks, a lot. He let Kristen and I be kids. We were loud and giggly, and so silly but he loved every minute of it. You could tell by the smile on his face. He was a wonderful, caring, giving, and hard working man, and his memory will live on in my heart forever. He had so many special gifts and he gave his all while he was here on this earth. The Lord has called him home and he is with his sweet wife again. She probably yelled, “What are you doing here?!” God bless you Tyree family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Edna and Vernon were our childhood babysitters and we were like family. Sorry to hear of your loss, best wishes to Kim and Donny.
