With faith in the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we commend the soul of William Antonio Ramos into the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father. William entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2026, at the age of 63, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, joyful living, humble service, and unconditional love for his family and friends.

William was born on August 6, 1962, in Cali, Colombia (Sucursal del Cielo/Heaven Branch) to William Anthony Ramos and Rafaela Ramos. He was affectionately known throughout his life as Tata, Cuchi, and Toño—names that reflected the many cherished roles he held as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, teacher, mentor, and friend.

He attended Colegio Bolívar, graduating with the Class of 1980, before pursuing higher education in the United States. William earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Technical Institute in 1990. He later obtained his ESOL endorsement and dedicated himself to education, serving as an ESOL and algebra teacher at Berkmar High School, where he encouraged countless students to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.

William was also an entrepreneur, proudly founding two small businesses in Colombia. Among his proudest accomplishments were becoming a judo champion and helping establish a foundation dedicated to serving the children of farming families in Colombia, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others.

Above all, William was a devoted and practicing Catholic whose faith guided every aspect of his life. He faithfully attended Mass at Our Lady of the Americas, Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción, and San José del Salado.

William had a profound devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy Rosary, and Saint Anthony of Padua. The Rosary and the Novena to Saint Anthony were treasured parts of his daily prayer life. During his final illness, he was blessed to receive the Anointing of the Sick three times, along with the Church’s final sacraments of reconciliation and holy communion, preparing his soul with peace, grace, and complete trust in God’s infinite mercy.

Those who knew William will always remember his joyful spirit.
A true rumbero, William loved dancing salsa, rock music, and celebrating life through music. Colombian salsa was the soundtrack of many family gatherings, and he delighted in helping choose the salsa songs for his niece’s wedding. Music was one of the many ways he brought people together.

William loved his Colombian heritage and delighted in sharing it with others. Family gatherings were often centered around delicious meals featuring empanadas, tajadas, tostones, sancocho, frijoles, and ajiaco, accompanied by his favorite fruit juices, especially tomate de árbol. He believed that food was a way of bringing people together.

A naturalist at heart, William appreciated God’s creation and believed in living well through natural foods, herbal teas, and wholesome living. He found beauty in the simple gifts of life and encouraged others to care for both body and soul.

Family meant everything to William. He faithfully celebrated the accomplishments of those he loved, attending birthdays, graduations, sporting events, performances, and life’s many milestones with genuine pride and encouragement. His generosity knew no bounds. Whenever family visited him in Colombia, he welcomed them as though they were his own children- taking them out to enjoy meals, showing them the beauty of his homeland, and making sure they were always cared for.

William is lovingly survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Polanco; his children, Danielle Ramos, Natacha Blanco, Marco Blanco, Zaretna Polanco, and Zarevis Polanco; his cherished grandchildren, Domining, Natalia, and Isaías; his sisters, Ana Milena Serna and Patricia Torres; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, former students, colleagues, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.

William’s greatest accomplishment was not found in his profession or achievements, but in the countless lives he touched through his faith, generosity, joyful spirit, and unconditional love. Whether you knew him as William, Tata, Cuchi, or Toño, you knew someone who made the world brighter simply by being in it.

While our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice in the hope of Christ’s promise that death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal life. We pray that Our Blessed Mother, whom William loved so dearly, together with Saint Anthony of Padua, may accompany him into the presence of our Lord, where every tear is wiped away and joy has no end.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in William’s memory to The Divine Child Jesus Children’s Community Kitchen (Our Kids), continuing the charitable mission that reflected his generous heart and unwavering faith.
